The Emperor; Justice; 10/wands (R)

There's an individual, or there's a set of circumstances, overwhelming your life right now.  My first glance at this card showed me Justice as the Knight of Swords, meaning you have to find your voice and the courage to use it to regain control of a situation, or a person who has totally broken boundaries and in a major way.  What an impact this has had on your life, possibly for several years.  Spirit shows us that this has been an overwhelming experience for you, and that it's negatively affected your self-confidence, your ego, and your ability to speak up and assert yourself throughout most areas of life -- within romantic relationships, family relationships, as well as in a plethora of other personal and professional settings.

Spirit also tells us that when you find your voice and the courage to use it, you will almost immediately feel a lifting of weight from your shoulders.  "Burdens be gone", Spirit says.

Someone has been working very hard towards a financial goal, or a business opportunity, only to have had something totally out of the blue come along and brutally smash the process.  This fiasco may have led to some unexpected fallout among a group of people, and now you may find yourself gingerly picking up the pieces and taking stock of the final results.

The good news is that you were not left completely empty-handed, but it's back to the drawing board.  Hopefully you will have a whole new perspective from this failed experience, and you will put your knowledge to good use, so next time -- expect a postive outcome.

Episode #37 ~ Daily Cards, Daily Energy, Beware the Cheshire Cat or It's All in the Smile

A relationship is going nowhere fast.  There's a feeling of constraint around it that boarders on hypocrisy, somehow, and I know that sounds strange.  So, what is this hypocrisy centered around?

Could it be that someone who gives the impression of propiety, of conformity, of rigid discipline, is perhaps something entirely different?  Is someone concealing their true feelings?  Their true persona?  

The Sun; Ace/pentacles (R); 4/pentacles

Sometimes a person shines too brightly, smiles too often or at inappropriate times, laughs at awkward moments, trys too hard to be pleasant and optimistic and happy and in your face.  It's an act.  And it's usually this very person who is trying very hard with this behavior to take your attention away from something that is significant to you.

In this case, it's all about control.  They're trying very hard to hang onto something.  What?... you? material wealth or possessions, maybe YOUR material wealth and possessions?  the influence they have over you?  your feelings for them?

Spirit is telling you not to act rashly or in a frenzied or obvious way right now.  Patience will be your best companion, diligence will be your strength.  And for now, just for now, silence will be your protection.  

At some point, the time will come for you to make a decision, a life changing, perhaps earth shattering decision.  And whatever your choice shall be, know that it will lead you down a new path, it will set a new course for your life, and it will open new doors and highlight new opportunities.

Episode #36 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy, choices-decisions-results

 

7/cups; The Star; The Chariot

I haven't done this for a while, I've been busy with a new line of video projects, and quite frankly, I was beginning to feel that I may be picking up too much of my own energy too often with the cards.  But on reflection, I thought, so what, I'm also benefiting by the intuitive messages as well as you are.  This is a good thing, and perhaps we ask more from readers than we realize, or readers expect more of themselves than is realistic.

At first breathless glance of these three cards, I can see a microscopic beginning for a much longer tale:

 

1.  Someone is faced with decisions, and they may be overwhelmed with the decisions they face.  They may also be procrastinating in making a decision.

2.  Somone is trying to do two things at once, or they're trying to divide their time and energy between two very different things at once; whether this be relationships, jobs, personal interests, reaching goals, whatever.  

3.  Someone is contemplating which direction to go, which path to take, which way to turn.  Amongst this dilemma of consideration, they may also be thinking about actually physcially moving, traveling, or moving on figuatively from something to something else.

How am I doing so far?

7/swords; 2/wands; 4/swords

1.  Someone might be trying to take off with a portion of something that is not their's, or a figurative something they do not deserve, like credit, praise, admiration; while at the same time keeping watch behind them lest their thievery or inflated ego is discovered.  

2.  Someone is waiting patiently for a choice to be made, or they are hesitating in making an important choice themselves.  They are weighing all options in a state of calm and matter-of-fact observation and patience, with poker-faced negotiation tactics.  If this is you, good for you!  If this is someone you are in business or financial negotiations or conflict with... oops.

3.  Someone may be contemplating coming out of retirement; activating something they have temporarily deactivated; picking up where they left off; placing themselves in a more solitary position; choosing to ignore a situation, an individual, or the outcome of a choice.

Do you see a pattern here?

Final card:  3/swords

Whether  anyone considers themselves "coming out on top", or "winning", they should take a deeper look at the results they finally achieve, where their choice finally takes them.  There is the old adage "be careful what you wish for", and it might just apply here.  You may get what it is you want, but there will be repercussions that were unforseen, fallout that may not be avoided, possibly some regret, and perhaps a wee bit of remorse thrown in for good measure.

It would seem then that this reading is a warning.  Heed it at your own risk, weigh carefully what you are willing to sacrifice, either materially, or figuratively.

Episode #34 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy, manic enthusiasm

 

Ace/cups; King/pentacles (R); 6/pentacles (R)

There appears to be a gentleman head over heels in love (or so he thinks), a gentleman who is not normally swept off his feet so easily (and yes, men can be swept off their feet).  The thing is, the cup being offered is already overflowing, overflowing with old opportunities, past lovers, it's overflowing with unbridled and manic enthusiasm, as well as an abundance of emotional turmoil and years of baggage.  

It's a pretty messy cup, if you ask me.

And you, usually a pretty grounded and intelligent individual, are so besotted that you do not see the red flags, though they are flying flagrantly in your face.  The thing is, this lustful and empowering attraction (and no, it's not love, no matter what you may think), it's going to cost you, it is.  Your coffers will suffer a serious blow, and not necessarily  because the focus of your lust is wringing you dry, but because your own manic enthusiasm for this brand spankin' shiny new individual is going to make you want to impress her; it's going to make you want to show off; to buy expensive gifts, and to present with extravagant activities.

This is not a good thing; because remember (or re-read the first paragraph of this reading, if it's already slipped your mind), as this individual stands in the glowing accolades of your enthusiastic pursuit, this individual will already be targeting the next love interest.  They will already be looking ahead to the future and all the possiblities that they think they see.  

You have, my poor dear King, been run over by an opportunist, a hopeless and unrealistic romanticist, and someone probably manic-depressive or bi-polar.

Run.

Episode #33 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy, narcissistic implosion

 

10/wands (R); Knight/pentacles; The Moon (R)

The trouble with a lie is that maintaining it can get progressively more and more difficult as time goes by, and it can also become more and more impossible to hide the truth, which is naturally screaming to be seen, to be heard, to be acknowledged.  Maintaining lies can become a burden, at least to most normal people.

And here, it looks as though someone is going to have the opportunity of getting out from under this most unpleasant burden; because the truth is going to be revealed, and the revelation will unleash a flurry of emotions, activity, and repercussions.

The revelations of someone's truth is going to completely invert, turn topsy-turvey, the connection of a couple.  Their reality may be quite altered, at least initially, and I do believe that each of the individuals within this couple will have a totally different perspective of the reality of it all.

On one side, there will be the cutting edge sword of stinging betrayal, of suspicion that has been nurtured and coddled for quite some time, and with this individual there will be the overpowering instinct for justice, and retribution, and a certain finality that is positively fatalistic.

On the other hand, there will be the weak cry of justification, of entitlement, and with it the eerie iridescent green glow of gaslighting and psychological manipulation and maneuvering.  There will also be lacking a true and integral understanding of the ramifications of it all, a compete lack of empathy of the feelings that have been roused and bruised and belittled.  

Strength (R); The Lovers; Page/pentacles

At the end of it all, the couple will only once more stand together, but not united, facing each other in a strange new surreal light.  All of the lies, the facade, will be stripped away, and they will be left to look at each other -- really look -- with everything exposed:  all the unpleasant and oozing old wounds from past hurts; all of the ulterior motives, those fevered pus-filled blemishes that were so carefully kept concealed.  It will not be a pretty sight, but at least it will all be an honest view.

On one side, will be someone tired, utterly exhausted, by their journey through this odd and destructive connection.  They have used all of their energy up trying to keep this world and themselves together in this moment with this person.  They won't realize, not at first, that their strength is actually limitless, and that they will eventually regain their equilibrium and their sanity, and be quite surprised at the new-found purpose and direction their new life will take, engulfed in enthusiasm and expectation.

On the other side, is some form of strange and unrealistic expectations with a skewered eternal oblivious hopefulness.  This mental condition may stem from the fact that they have turned away from the remnants of an unsuccessful coupling, ready and willing and excited to move onto the next alternative, the next possibility, the next diamond in the rough... and they think, perhaps the next one will be more moldable, more compliant, more successful.

Episode #29 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy, some people never learn

 

King/swords; Queen/pentacles/; 9/cups (R)

Well there's a lot going on here, and it's dripping with innuendo.  Intriguing.  First, this King is so close to getting his wish he can probably smell it.  However, hold that thought, wait just one minute.  There's actually something standing between this King and his desired wish, and that's a woman, his woman, or a woman that's part of his daily life.  It must be very frustrating for him, and he must be having quite a time maintaining a cool exterior, because this Queen is just not going to move, or at least she's not going to move willingly.  She may be oblivious to this situation, and then again, she might know exactly what she's doing.

We need some more cards for this, it's just too intriguing not to go further.

6/cups; Knight/wands; Temperance

Whatever this King's wish is, it's connected to his past, or a particular person or set of circumstances from his past, and this connection was filled with some mind-blowing passion and frenzied activity, and a little bit of mania and impulsiveness.  This was also something that this King was just absolutely sure was his dream, or his soul mate, or his idea of perfection, or his greatest ever desire -- greatest ever.

The particular "thing" from this King's past that he was so enthusiastic about tripped him up, took his world by storm, and upended many aspects of his life, including a lot of what he had been working towards.  This parricular "thing" from this King's past that he thinks he desires once again led to an enormous amount of chaos and arguements and separations from various relationships, and people taking sides, and everything being messed up and so many people's lives in a turmoil -- yes, so many people, not just this King.

In the end, he shot himself in the foot.  He shot himself in the foot with impulsivines, short-sightedness, and immaturity.  He shot himself in the foot with a narrow view of reality; he shot himself in the foot with an almost narcissistic focus on himself and what he wanted.

And the thing is, in spite of everthing, he once more desires this "thing" from his past, and he will once more create the same kind of chaos with the same miserable and predictable outcome.

Some people never learn.

For three readings in a row now the Queen of Wands has come up. I was shocked when I drew this card a third time. For me she represents two specific individuals, individuals that were in my life at one time, but that I would not want involved with my life now. It's a long story.

Episode #18 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy, two-faced

 

Strength; 3/cups; Page/wands

The first card, Strength, generally a very positive card dripping with affirmative powerful in-your-face determination and energy, is actually telling me something else for this reading.  It's telling me that there is someone within your circle who is feigning weakness, helplessness, or indecision.  The innocent "I'm not strong enough to do anything on my own, especially something nasty" is the persona they are displaying to you.  They are very cunning, actually, because as you're picking up this poor-little-me vibe from this individual, you are also letting your guard down at the same time.

Like a lamb to slaughter.

The second card, the three of cups, another card that traditionally emits celebratory energy, is giving us a different message here.  There appears to be a whole troupe of people, your friends or family, who see what's happening and are either ignoring the situation, or you are ignoring their warnings.  Whatever the case, they are not going to waste their time on this situation.  So off they go, life as usual, leaving you to your own devices and Strength's mercy, or lack there-of.

A lesson must be learned here through personal experience.

Finally, the third card, the Page of Wands reversed, is a lesson in miscommunication, possibly deception -- lies, or something even more dire.  The scenario playing out here is one of a sudden realization on your part and possibly a cry for help, which will go unheard as-of-now, because you have long since brushed off warnings from friends and family.  The two-faced individual, represented by Strength, may finally have you right where they want you, and your realization comes way too late.

This may be the  universe teaching you a harsh lesson.  You got yourself into this mess with your naivete and your infatuation, now it's up to you to get yourself out of it.

Episode #17 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy

 

King/swords; 6/swords; The Lovers

Well, this is certainly one of the clearest set of cards I've seen in a long time.  The very short, micro-story, here is that this belligerent know-all king is going to be moving on to a new relationship.

Now, we'll take a closer look...

The King himself... (5/pentacles; Queen/swords; Page/swords)

This king is running a little low on money, he's not doing so well financially, so running away and starting over may prove to be quite a challenge because of this.  However, with this in mind, he might have found himself a new partner, or potential partner, that is as belligerent and arrogant as he is.  Somehow, he is not taking into consideration that this might be a problem in the future, when these two personalities actually have to coexist with each other.  In the end, it will be a "war of words" with this situation, because both the King and Queen of swords use their tongues as a weapon.

The Actual Act of leaving... (ace/swords; 7/cups; ace/wands)

This king has taken the act of leaving a relationship to an art form.  This is something that's been given a lot of thought.  As a matter-of-fact, almost as soon as he was hooked up in the present relationship, he's already been contemplating his escape.  After all, obsession, passion, and interest dies pretty quickly for this king.  He's got the concentration and focus of a gnat.  This king is the one that is never happy where he's at, because he's always looking ahead to something he thinks is better.  

The new couple... (9/swords; 6/cups; 8/pentacles)

The new couple really aren't giving any thought to the repercussions of their hookup, not in the slightest.  This king and queen don't care how it affects other people, because they're both pretty selfish and are thinking of themselves first.  This might seem like an easy transition to the king, since this appears to be someone from his past, someone he already knows.  He feels that he already has a leg up on manipulating this new queen, as he thinks he knows what makes her tick.  But alas, there's been a lot of water under the bridge, so to speak, since he was with her last, and she is going to be a very different person than he remembers.  He will also find himself scurrying to get a job and start bringing in cash for this new queen, because she expects it, and she's going to be tapping her foot, impatiently waiting to hear the "ka-ching" coins being added to her surprisingly empty purse.

Episode #16 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy

 

So how about this, I pick up a tarot deck that's always displayed on one of my witchy shelves, it's a small version of Hanson/Roberts, and I begin to do my awkward very personal little shuffle while standing there in the living room, and I'm saying to myself: "Spirit, tell me what I need to know.  Show me what I must see."  And out flies four cards that hit the floor, all in a single pile.

I pick them up, and this is what I find:

6/cups (reversed); 9/swords; Page/wands; 10/swords

The short story:

The first card, the card of nostalgia, tells us that someone from the past has come forward, and because this card is reversed there may be complications with this new old arrival from the past.  This person may prove to be problematic.  This renewed connection is going to cause a lot of anxiety and emotional ups and downs.  I'd call it a mental turmoil on a variety of levels.  The page tells us that there is communication with this person-from-the-past and someone in the here and now, a lot of back and forth banter, actually.  And the last card, the result of it all, is that someone is going to suffer the pain of betrayal and feel as though they were stabbed in the back.

And there you have it.  The short version of an old/new story.  The really odd thing is that this applies to me in such a huge no-denying in-your-face way that it's actually spooky.  

But at least I know what's up.

Episode #6 ~ Daily Cards/Daily Energy

 

6/pentacles (R); 3/wands (R); 5/pentacles (R)

Our issue today is finances and all about juggling money, waiting for a financial deal to come in, and then facing great disappointment over a financial loss.  So what's going on here?  What is this scenario all about?  Let's take a closer look, card by card:

6/pentacles:

It appears that at one point, when you had money, it was passing, or changing hands, back and forth, back and forth.  And there appears to have come a point where someone dropped the ball.  For some of you this could mean outrageous mismanagement of finances through a poor business manager, poor personal decisions, or a partner that you shouldn't have trusted -- either a business partner, or a relationship partner, because sometimes this is one and the same, and that's the feeling here, two closely related individuals.

3/wands:

Well, what were you waiting for? -- positive results that were promised or expected?  a windfall?  a promised opportunity or contract?  Whatever it was, this ship has sailed.  This is never going to happen.  This card feels very much like someone who was deliberately duped in a financial venture.  The one thing this card indicates in its reversed position is that you need to stop standing still waiting for something that will never arrive, and you need to start moving and take action, hopefully to recover some of what you lost.

5/pentacles:

This card is going to point out a harsh truth, and that is that you have landed in a dismal financial situation, and it's not going to be pretty or fun, and there is not going to be any immediate instant fix.  But this card leaves us with a healthy dose of reality and the truth -- something that you have not experienced for quite a while.  It's time to pay the piper, put on your big girl/boy panties, roll up your sleeves and go to work to put your finances (and your life) back on track.
